A little about me
I am currently the Associated Director of Research, Innovation and Translational Science at Aurelia. Here I have led advanced development in next-generation proprietary and protected solutions for all life benefits including immune health, microbiome health, beauty from within and cellular nutrition.
Prior to this, I led an Infant Nutrition Research Program for Food for Health Ireland which united world-class science and industry experience to improve health through innovation of food. I also served as a Research Officer at the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Moorepark, Cork, Ireland.
I have over 15 years’ experience in functional food research with over 40 international peer reviewed publications in this area.
My motivation
The passion of our team to push beyond traditional science and discovery, which results in the delivery of advanced and novel solutions that allow us to impact upon the daily lives of our consumer.
A day in the life
A typical day at Aurelia involves meeting with the team members to plan for scientific data generation or review existing data to support our product development or existing products. After this we engage in multi-functional activities to establish key messaging that allow our consumers to fully understand the power of the science behind our products.

People and passion are the key ingredients for scientific success.
What could the future hold?
In the next 5 to 10 years the expectation is that this field will evolve to precision application. Every person is unique, and we live in changing environments. Understanding the factors that influence on an individual basis will support us
in the development of more precise solutions to meet the specific needs of the consumer.
